Geospatial information describes the physical location of features all around us. Knowing and understanding where these features are, and how the relate to each other and different types of information, underpin national development and decision making.
All countries need to geospatial information to address their national priorities, for economic development, societal benefit or citizen services. However, all countries have different levels of geospatial maturity. The United Nations Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (UN-IGIF) provides a basis and guide for developing, integrating and strengthening national arrangements in geospatial information management.
In this webinar, hosted by the UN-GGIM: Europe Working Group on the UN-IGIF, you will learn more about the development of the UN-IGIF, how it helps nations take practical actions to achieve digital transformations, and countries across Europe are adopting and implementing the Framework.
The UN-IGIF focuses on issues related to governance, technology and people, this webinar will introduce these themes in more detail. It will act as an information source for attendees at the upcoming Joint UNECE, Eurostat, UN-GGIM: Europe Workshop on Integration of Geospatial and Statistical Data which uses these three themes to guide its agenda.
