Global Geodetic Reference Frame for Sustainable Development (GGRF) resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly

The first geospatial resolution was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, on Thursday 26th February 2015.

The Permanent Mission of Fiji, the lead sponsor made their deliberation of the Global Geodetic Reference Frame for Sustainable Development (GGRF) resolution. The resolution, which was co-sponsored by 52  Member States, has now been adopted.
The Global Geodetic Reference Frame is fundamental for monitoring changes to the Earth including the continents, ice caps, oceans and the atmosphere. It is also fundamental for mapping, navigation and universal timing.
