Expanded UN-GGIM Bureau Meeting was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China on May 4-6, 2015

UN-GGIM: Europe, represented by Executive Committee member Mr. Tomaž Petek, participated in the Expanded UN-GGIM Bureau Meeting held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China on 4th – 6th May 2015. The meeting was jointly organized by the UN-GGIM Secretariat and the National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation (NASG) of China. The three Co-Chairs of UN-GGIM, Presidents/representatives of UN-GGIM regional bodies including UN-GGIM Asia Pacific, UN-GGIM Americas, UN-GGIM Africa and UN-GGIM Europe, as well as the UN-GGIM Secretariat, attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the architecture, activities and progress of UN-GGIM, considered the work program of the 5th UN-GGIM Session, and discussed the future strategy for a sustainable UN-GGIM, particularly about the preparations for the ECOSOC review, as well as the role of UN-GGIM in the Post 2015 Development Agenda and SDGs.
