With an overarching theme: “Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals: The Role of Geospatial Technology and Innovation” the High Level Forum will provide Member States and geospatial information stakeholders the unique opportunity to exchange knowledge, practices and experiences and afford peer-to-peer learning on strategies, approaches and methods to support sub-national, national and regional initiatives towards increasing availability, accessibility and application of high-quality, reliable and timely geospatial information for sustainable development.

This workshop will be organized as part of the Conference of European Statisticians’ work programme for 2017, within the context of the High Level Group for the Modernisation of Official Statistics. At the kind invitation of Statistics Sweden, it will take place at Stockholm, Sweden.

The Fourth Plenary Meeting of the European Region of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM: Europe) will be held from 7 – 8 June 2017 in Brussels, Belgium. This Plenary Meeting of UN-GGIM: Europe is being hosted by Eurostat.
The 9th European Forum for Geography and Statistics conference will take place in Paris from 15 to 17th November, 2016 at the Mercure Paris Vaugirard Porte de Versailles Hotel.
It will be organized by Insee, the French National Statistical Institute (NSI) with support from Eurostat, the European Forum for Geography and Statistics (EFGS), IGN, the French National Mapping Agency (NMA) and from the French Ministry of the Environment, Energy and Marine Affairs.
